This study aim is critical discourse analysis of representation discourse confrontation of "Damascus Time" movie. This movie has been produced with "OWJ Media” organization financial support. So, this movie has been produced with State-ownership and based on its favorable discourses. The Islamic Republic of Iran fought ISIS in the Syrian war for political, cultural, and social reasons. This movie represented Iranian pilots’ activities in Syria and their fight against ISIS. In this study, this movie was analyzed based on Theo van Leeuwen's critical discourse analysis method. results Show that this movie represents actors in the ISIS and non-ISIS poles. So, ISIS are fundamentalist, absolutist, big-bodied, fierce, and savage and non-ISIS are Civilized, fit body and normal. The discourse polarization of this movie is in accordance with the desired polarization of power in Iran. In other words, we see Foucault's "Panopticism" of power to spread the beliefs and discourse sought to build the nation's approval. In addition, both poles have Prototypes of each other; ISIS call other, religion and God enemies and in contrast non-ISIS, all ISIS call irrational and savage.

Abstract: Iranian cultural policies are subject to various inconsistencies and contradictions. This situation reduces the acceptability of policymaker and policy itself and consequently leads to inefficiency in social relations. This paper aims to provide a suggested model to study and analysis of certain inconsistency among cultural policies. The analytical framework of the paper is based on cognitive approaches deal with three ideas including "policy making paradigm", "reference" and the "advocacy coalition framework". The authors believe that Iranian social stratification system represents cultural varieties and cognitive resources of different stratus. Differences in the cognitive resources of policymakers and beneficiaries, originating from various socio-economic status result in inconsistent cultural policies. As such, policy makers in the policy-making process are disinterested in the value element of "informal references" of beneficiaries and they instead consider the value elements of their own "selective references”. In such cases, the beneficiaries of a certain policy will not accept the content; consequently, will find themselves opposed to it and won't act on it. The paper concludes by suggesting a special case of cultural inconsistency and its analysis according to the research model.

This article focuses primarily on one of the most important demographic issues, that is, the association between religious belonging and fertility desires from a sociological perspective; and we have attempted to presents research-based evidence in order to better understand some of the most important patterns and determinants related to this association. To what extent can socio-economic characteristics and situations affect the association between religious belonging and fertility desires? More clearly, whether religious affiliations or socio-economic characteristics do play a more important role in individuals’ fertility desires? Generally speaking, the results of this analysis provide fresh and new research findings to support the notion developed by such demographers as Westoff & Jones (1979) and Kaufman &Skirbekk (2012), suggesting that the influence of religious affiliations on fertility desires tends to gradually decrease when the contemporary societies become more modern. The research findings of this analysis have also confirmed that despite some differences across the religious groups, their fertility desires are still substantially affected by socio-economic determinants. Accordingly, the sustainable and comprehensive success of policies and planning remain on nationwide development programs in order to improve the socio-economic characteristics of the individuals, irrespective of religious affiliations.

The purpose of this study is to estimate the cinema demand function and analyzing the factors affecting it in city of Mashhad. By reviewing the theoretical literature, five influential factors of economic, cultural, social, individual and environmental have been identified and the variables related to each factor have been compiled based on a conceptual model. The research was conducted by survey method and based on a conceptual model, a questionnaire consisting of 71 items in the Likert scale was developed to score the variables. The results of the study indicate that the price of cinema tickets has the most negative and significant effect on cinema demand. Among the social factors, the financial and welfare status of the family and parents' education have a positive and significant effect on cinema demand. Among cultural factors, the amount of leisure time has the most positive effect on cinema demand. In addition, this study shows that increasing media use plays a complementary product role rather than a substitute role.Obtained data show the positive and high impact of individuals' income base among social factors affecting the demand for cinema in Mashhad. In general, economic factors, compared to other factors, have the greatest impact.

Although science journalism has more than 100 years' history in Iran but, Iranian popular science media insists on conveying of information as a function of these media. In this type of media, the role of science journalists is translation and simplification of the complex and expertise language of the modern science. In the literature, this approach named traditional models of public communication of science. To identify categories for good science journalism in Iran, this study has used focus group and had deep interview with science journalists who had experienced for more than 10 years . Findings of the research indicate that redefinition of the function of science journalism is also based on traditional models. It means that science journalists proposed popularization and contextual model. However, they start to think about these media as identical factor and physical-cultural and social capital because of limited number of audiences and feeling to have independent economy. It seems that this approach would change the function of science journalism in the future and it would become a dynamic and influential part in the field of media and science.

The present paper examines the relation between the level of watching TV and the score of religious, group and gender identities of people. The presented results were taken from a scientific study conducted at the IRIB research center by using two methods including analysis of contents and surveying. The studied statistical community in the contents analysis section included comic programs, TV serials and news. In the surveying section, people above 19 years old in 5 large cities of the country (presented in the methodology) were studied. In this paper, George Gerbner's Cultivation Theory is examined from the viewpoints of religious, group and gender issues based on the fact that repetition of TV programs has a cultivation effect on the minds of those who watch TV most of the times. The results of multivariable regression shows that although in some of the identity aspects in comedy, news and serial programs some messages were repeatedly broadcasted from IRIB and the watchers were exposed to those messages, the messages were beside other influential factors. The results further show that TV was an effective factor on the identity score of addresses in the studied level after other variables of social system. Moreover, despite Gerbner's theory, TV in Iran has no cultivation effete on the minds of the addresses and people influenced more by other variables of social system.
