Iranian women, for the first time, owned newspapers for women with the advent of the Constitutional Revolution (1906). Newspapers were the only mass media in Iran during the Qajar period (1789-1925). Women's newspapers were also the most important tool of the women's movement in the struggle for gender equality. This study aimed to identify women's family issues and demands in women's newspapers in the constitutional era (1906-1925). The findings of this study showed that women's newspapers in the constitutional era considered the domination of patriarchy in society as the root of all women's issues and problems. Patriarchal domination for Iranian women had various consequences, including the forced marriage of girls, child marriage, polygamy for men, domestic violence against women, prevention of women's employment, feminization of poverty, and the spread of prostitution. For this reason, women in their newspapers strongly criticized the dominance of patriarchal discourse in society. They sought to undermine the patriarchal discourse in society. The purpose of the women's newspapers was to pave the way for family law changes in the country. In this way, they sought to control the negative consequences of patriarchy on the lives of Iranian women.

If we consider that voice is a reflective ability of actors for narrating themselves and others’ lives and a sort of significant choice to reform the current situation, so the Constitutional era’s satiric poetry is a unique form in terms of constructing the public voice: an appearance of critical poetic form towards the society. In this research, the contexts of public voice’s formation have been historically explained and by studying four main poets of this era-based on Albert Hirschman's voice theory, themes and the manner of public voice has been analyzed. The effective factors in formation and development of public voice is: frustration arising from comparison between Iran and modern countries, absence of easy opportunities for exit (although it’d got possible), national loyalty sentiments and the possibility of voice’s effectiveness due to weakness of sovereignty. Public voice in the constitutional era has been unequivocal. While this voice is straight and distinctional in criticizing of public culture, it is rather oblique in criticizing politics (Shah, politicians and colonialism). Regardless of the validity of these poetries, satire was so a fantastic form to appear the horizontal collective public voice that paved the way of construction of collective political identities and – accordingly - vertical voice towards dominants.

Gender identity and religiosity role in these patterns are also investigated. 2615 adolescent and adult using cluster random sampling in 15 districts of Isfahan were chosen in this survey. Leisure practices were analyzed in three groups (individual, family base and friend base leisure) using factor analysis to obtain patterns. Family leisure in adolescents had two patterns. Individual leisure had three patterns and friend base leisure in two patterns was categorized. Individual and family leisure in adult group had 3 patterns each and finally friend base leisure was categorized in 2 patterns similar to adolescents. Findings show that individual patterns are different in adolescent and adults qualitatively. Film and music are matter a lot for adolescents and it is religiosity which makes the patterns different. In adult group gender identity and education make patterns distinct. Some individual and family patterns had significant negative relationship with religiosity. We did cluster analysis using individual leisure patterns for age groups. We found a high religious and three less religious clusters in adolescents and an educated, less traditional cluster along with a less educated, traditional group of adults. First group got high scores in religious patterns of leisure and second group had lower scores in religious patterns but they are more active in family base patterns.

Considering the new concept of emotioncy (emotion+frequency), the present study intends to examine the lingua-cultural concept of [nāz] in Persian language using Hymes’(1967) SPEAKING model. The outcomes of this study revealed that the concept of [nāz] has been mostly prevalent inthe collective culture of Iran, and the expressions related to [nāz] are even more widely used in comparison to the past. The high frequency and variety of this lingua-cultural concept is due to fact that Iranians have mostly positive and mixed emotions toward this concept, and as a result, their level of emotioncy toward [nāz] is higher (Inner-emo and Arch-emo).Overall, the results suggest that this lingua-cultural element is more commonly used in informal situations with participants of equal or unequal power relationships. It was also concluded that the main aim behind the use of this lingua-cultural item is to use it as a politeness strategy. Considering the oral mode of language, the tones that are accompanied with [nāz] are usually begging, admiring, offensive, and sardonic.

The present study is a Critical Discourse Analysis on twenty four episodes of a BBC Persian T.V programme entitled “Pargar”. The main purpose of this study is to represent how the dominant hegemonic discourse in this special program i.e. secularism discourse wittingly manipulates audience minds so that they acknowledge religion’s survival and existence only in the forms of neo-emerging theosophies (Erfans) or individual spiritualties. Indeed, religion is imagined as a missing one in public domain. Articulating discourse of religion in dichotomies such as modern expert/Marja sonati, Erfan/ Fiqh, Religion Essence /Religion rituals, individualism /Marjaism tends to deessentialize all essences presupposed among the traditional believers. Indeed, religious reformation and dereligionism are two strategic approaches which secularism applies to deessentialize religion. As a result of this deessentialism, religion has been transformed into something so-called shallow and neutral so that it cannot be easily recognized as a concrete phenomenon in social life.

The present article analyzes the sociological discourse of Azari folklore in Iran from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. The current research has analyzed and interpreted the stories and proverbs of the Azari language based on Norman fairclughs critical discourse analysis approach. The main question in this study is what discourses and proverbs of the Azari folk have been used in the discourse and what have been the conditions for the formation of those discourses? To analyze and explain the theories of Laclau and Mouffe's (1990) discourse analysis, Norman Fairclough's Critical Theory (1995), Clifford Geertz's Theory of Cultural Interpretation (1973) has been used as a theoretical and conceptual framework, and Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis approach has been used as the research method. The research type was qualitative and the analyzed data included three stories and thirty Azari folklore proverbs that among them two examples of folk tales and ten proverbs were analyzed in this article. The qualitative data of this qualitative research were selected in a purposive manner from three written sources of Azari folklore . The findings of the study indicate that there is a conflicting discourse between politics and the people, and the language of Azari folklore is a means of expressing criticism, protest and criticism of politics and the social situation.

The main topic of this article is to examine the relationship between physician and patient in the context of cultural communication. According to the different communication models that govern the relationship between physician and patient, it is predicted that the dominant communication model in the treatment system will be patriarchal or parental model. The method of this research is qualitative and the data are analyzed using Maxqda software. To achieve the purpose of the study, 15 patients with different ethnicities and dialects, as well as 10 physicians, interns and residents who had experience working in public hospitals in Tehran in 1398 were interviewed. Then the interview results were coded and analyzed in three stages. In both groups, 3 categories of comprehensive code including communication-information disorders, physician authority, and inter-cultural communication disorders were obtained,. According to the analysis of the research findings, it was concluded that communication disorder in the relationship between physician and patient in general and the issue of cultural difference is only one of the aggravating factors of communication disorder between physician and patient and is on the margins of this relationship. It was also concluded that the treatment system currently has many weaknesses in the field of communication skills and is dominated by the patriarchal communication model. The lack of academic communication skills in the medical community as well as the patient community is the most important factor in this weakness.

In recent years, the press has witnessed a decline in its audience due to various factors, including cultural, social, political, and economic influences, as well as existing restrictions. This research aimed to investigate the reasons, processes, strategies, and consequences of this issue by employing the grounded theory method, which follows a systematic approach. The participants in this study were communication media experts and individuals with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the press field. Through purposeful sampling, a total of 29 people were selected and interviewed using a semi-structured interview. The data were analyzed using the three-step coding method of grounded theory, which includes open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings revealed that the causal conditions influencing the distancing of the press can be categorized into three parts: socio-cultural factors (such as Iranian oral tradition, digitization of culture, minimalistic life, and institutional mistrust), political factors (including political restrictions and behavioral politicization), and economic factors (such as economic poverty, inflation, and high prices). The contextual conditions contributing to people's distance from the press are the political economy and virtualization. Additionally, the intervening conditions impacting people's distance from the press encompass content weakness and structural weakness. To address this issue, strategies such as content modernization, communication modernization, and structural modernization were identified. If these strategies are successfully implemented, the most significant consequence for the press would be a reduction in people's distance from it, leading to a decrease in the downward trend of the press audience.

This paper tries to answer the questions whether it is possible to discover the cognitive dissonance among blogger journalists through their blogs and whether blogger journalists are suffering from cognitive dissonance. Festinger's cognitive dissonance theory is applied in this paper. Following up these issues involves understanding the content of blogs. For this reason, quantitative and qualitative content analysis were used. In this paper, the contents of the blogs of 20 journalists working in Hamshahri, Kayhan, Iran and Shargh newspapers were selected using purposive convenient sampling method and then they were analyzed. The results indicated that most blogs criticize the political situation. Blogger journalists are more willing to write using article style; and half of articles written by them have been evaluated as having cognitive dissonance. The results of this paper indicate that it is possible to discover the cognitive dissonance among journalists through the content of their blogs.
